With the close of this year’s presidential race, we are left with the question of now what for our country. But as believer’s, what are we to do? More importantly, what role are we to play?
As believer’s, the Bible states that we are to pray for those who hold positions of power(1 Timothy 2:2). Yes I understand the feeling that is shared between many of us, but if you have any familiarity of the word of God, you understand what we are up against. We are fighting a battle against the spiritual wickedness in high places(Ephesians 6:12) that hold positions of power. But there is no need to fret; there is no need to fear; because the battle is not yours, but the Lord’s(2 Chronicles 2:15). Thats why is imperative that we not only cover the President, but anyone who holds a position of power, with the word of God. See there is power in the word of God, and when we pray, we can change the direction of a nation with our words(Psalms 45:1).
So after we pray, what role are we to play?
As believer’s, we have been empowered to be ambassadors of Christ(2 Corinthians 5:20), and to be a light to those in dark places(Matthew 5:16). It’s our job and purpose, before anything else, to bring the lost and those who lack the knowledge of God back to him(Matthew 4:19. The nation abandoned God for immorality. We traded our integrity for momentary satisfaction and money, yet we are falling further and further behind as a whole. But I believe the moment we return the nation to God, he will return to the nation(Zechariah 1:3). The world needs us, and it’s time for us to take our rightful place and positions. It’s time for us to not only make the changes, but be the change the nation needs.
Continue to stand
To all of you, fight the good fight of faith(1 Timothy 6:12), cover yourself in the armor of God(Ephesians 6:10-18), and fear not(Isaiah 41:10), because the Lord is with you. He can’t leave you(Deuteronomy 31:6) nor will he forsake you. You might be in this world, but you’re not of it(John 17:16). So rise up in the power of our risen Savior! Take authority of your mind. And stand firmly, rooted, and grounded in the word of God.
