Two thousand years ago, Christ died on the cross for you and I in one of the most gruesome, inhumane, and heart wrenching manners known to mankind. They put a crown of thorns on and in his head. They beat him with scourges, that ripped the flesh from his bones (which totaled thirty-nine lashes to be exact), that caused lacerations, all while carrying a wooden cross. They pulled his beard from his skin. They ripped his clothes off and sold them, all while mocking him, but he only asked God to forgive them. Even at his lowest point he never stopped, because he knew it would save your life. He could have dispatched angels or climbed down from the cross himself, but he didn’t, he was on assignment for you.
Had Jesus not been crucified, you wouldn’t be here today, or you possibly would making an appearance in hell. God loved you so much, that he gave up his only son for you(John 3:16). Yes you! Had you been the only person here, he would have done it, because you mean so much to him. He died so you could have eternal life(John 17:3-26). He died so you could be a joint heir with Christ(Romans 8:16-18, but he died more importantly because he loves you.
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans .10:9)
So with that being said, I would like to extend the opportunity for you to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior:
God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen
Welcome to the family!
